Meet Kayla Gomes

I split my time between LA and NYC, but a part of me will always be country.

Born to a family of cattle ranchers, I was raised in an old haunted house originally built as a cook kitchen for cowboys passing through the Wild West. My inner child is knotty-haired, 50 pounds soaking wet, and riding her horse full-speed, bareback and reinless through miles of open pasture while the sound of her mother's screaming voice fades into the background ("Kaaaaaayyyyyyyllllllaaaaaaaa!!!!!").

And lemme tell you... that inner child continues to take me on quite a ride.

Fast forward to rodeo championships, black-diamond skiing excursions, living abroad in Brazil and Portugal, and working as a publicist in San Francisco and NYC -- the characters I play are a little crazy (=P) yet grounded in truth. Feminine yet tough, I easily drop into the "don't fuck with me" attitude of a secret agent while handling a gun and looking amazing in a dress. Or, catch me in my element as that wholesome yet protective country girl with dreams bigger than Texas.

I rejoice to be part of the human experience and feel privileged to expose beauty in the complicated nature of the human spirit, in the flaws and rough edges. To let people know that it's ok to be human, imperfect, raw-- your authentic self. YOU ARE ENOUGH, no matter what. Being an artist has taught me to live a more connected, meaningful life-- to live moment to moment in real life too. There is only this moment. We don't live in the past nor in the future, only NOW.
